Pupils from the Austrian School “Peter Mahringer” visited today the hydropower plant Ashta.
They had the opportunity to take a closer look at this Austrian state of the art investment. On this
occasion Energji Ashta granted to two pupils of the Austrian School a scholarship of EUR 720 for
one school year to each.
Dietmar Reiner, Managing Director of Energji Ashta, said: “I am very happy to have here the presence of these young students who seek high standards in their lives. For us it is a big pleasure having the opportunity to support high standard education and especially technical education since we are a technical company too”.
The Austrian School “Peter Mahringer” is the youngest of the six Austrian schools founded abroad. The school was established in 2007 with the cooperation of the Albanian and Austrian Ministries of Education. It is a Technical High School for Information Technology.
Energji Ashta, a joint venture between Austrian VERBUND and EVN, started in March 2010 the construction of the world’s largest matrix power plant in Albania. The project company received all necessary permits and is expected to finalize construction work on the 53-MW-strong hydropower plant close to Shkoder until 2012.
