HPP ASHTA OPENS THE DOORS TO ITS LITTLE FRIENDS

June 8 has been a particular day for HPP Ashta team. Today they welcomed at the powerplant more than 30 pupils from the neighboring schools of Mjedë and Vau i Dejës.

The team engaged in making this a memorable day for the children who had the opportunity to get acquainted with a state of the art investment.

They could have a closer look at the impressive technology used to produce energy.

The most important stop was at the trash rack machine which filters the water from all the waste that the water flow carries before entering the turbines. Currently the amount of waste collected from the machine for the first four months of 2016 is estimated at roughly 32.3 tones. The same polluted water is also used by the neighboring families for their small irrigation systems. The children engaged to consider their behavior toward waste management not only at school but also in their everyday life to help improving the quality of their waters.

For the third consecutive year Energji Ashta gave away two symbolic cheques worth 1000 Euros each to the schools. This donation will be used by the schools for improving any school condition. Sokol Ramadani, HPP Ashta station manager thanked the children for their interest in the power plant and encouraged them to engage harder in their studying as the only way they can contribute in improving their community in the future.

Energji Ashta is yet the most successful concessionary energy project in Albania. Built within a record time, the power plant generates annually more than 242 million kWh, supplying more than 100.0000 households with clean energy. “
