EVN is a leading, international and publicly listed energy and services company, with headquarters in Lower Austria, the country’s largest federal province. Based on state-of-the-art infrastructure, EVN provides its home market with electricity, e-mobility charging solutions, natural gas, heat, internet and telecommunications services, drinking water supply, and thermal waste treatment.
The use of advanced battery storage systems also helps balance peak loads and further strengthen the security of supply. The energy business abroad includes the operation of electricity distribution networks and the sale of electricity to end customers in Bulgaria and North Macedonia. Additional activities comprise electricity generation in North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Albania, and Germany, heat production and sales to end customers in Bulgaria, as well as the operation of gas networks in Croatia.

The province of Lower Austria is the majority shareholder of EVN, with a stake of 51%. Since 1990, 49 percent of EVN has been privatized, and the Company has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange.
